Hello, my name is Meg and I’m a crafthead.
Today I want to tell you about my newest obsession.
I’m literally writing this post to get it out of my head. I have to tell someone about it! So I’m starting a series called…
Mosaic Madness : all about mosaic projects and supplies.
I want to start doing mosaic workshops. There, I said it.
I’m not positive when or why this obsession came upon me, but I’m not sad about it. Actually, I do know.
A few years ago, my “mother-in-law” gave me some tiles of her last name from a mosaic that broke or something. She figured hey Meg makes…things…I’m sure she can fix it. And fix it I did.
I wanted to make a border and such so that was kind of the catalyst for looking into all the tools and it kind of snowballed from there. I became obsessed, because that’s what I do.
So I got all the mosaic supplies. I got the cutters, the nippers, the glass cutter thingy, and a grinder (because I’m apparently not good at cutting tiles?), and off I went. Oh wait, I forgot to mention the tiles…all the tiles. A lot of tiles.
Let’s just say I quite enjoyed making this mosaic for Maryann and it was so simple, yet it made me hungry for more. Now I can’t stop thinking about it. (One might call this a manic situation, but I’m choosing to go with passionate situation for now)
Now that I’ve had time to play with all my tiles and practice, I want to do a mosaic workshop because I think more people would be obsessed if they knew how fun it is and had the materials. So you don’t have to have them, I do!
Ask me about a recent Facebook Marketplace score that left me with a wealth of tiles.
For now I’m just throwing it out there with friends and people I meet, but I want to start posting on social about it so see if there’s an interest.
I’m excited for this series, Mosaic Madness, because it’s all I really want to do. Ever.
Follow along for more as I learn more and more about mosaics and all things tile. We’ll do projects and I’ll tell you all about the supplies I try out so you don’t have to waste money! And maybe I’ll figure out how to host workshops! Maybe you can come!
